My mother Shuying Li is 64-years old. She is retired now. She had
worked for 30 years as a physics teacher at Beijing Zhongguancun High School. She was honored as "Exellent Teacher" by her school.
On December 15, 2006 at 8pm, three policemen broke into my parents' apartment in Beijing to search for Falun Gong literature and arrested my mother immediately. A month later, she was sentenced to 2.5 years in a labor camp. At present, she is in a Beijing Women's Labor Camp. My mother's arrest is part of the Beijing government's "cleansing the city for the 2008 Olympic Games."
Each morning, my mother is awakened at 5 am, she is given 3 minutes to wash, and then forced to work for 16 hours. She is forced to take high blood pressure medication, although she has never had any problem with her blood pressure. She and all jailed Falun Gong practitioners are forced to sign a "guarantee statement." The purpose for this statement is to declare that one is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong, and to guarantee that he/she will never practice Falun Gong again. If they refuse to sign, they will be starved and tortured with sleep deprivation.
Please help save my mother!
Please write to your Congressional representatives and asked them to contact Chinese authorities to request a release of my mother and other jailed Falun Gong practitioners in China.
